A young silversmith named Asa Ransom bult a log home and tavern in Clarence in 1799. In 1803, he built the first gristmill in Erie County, the ruins of which are still at the rear of the property. The Asa Ransom House is an intimate village in located in Clarence, where time stands still and memories live on. Guests are romanced in the winter by glowing fireplaces, and by spacious grounds full of herbs and flowers in the summer. The 1853 structure houses a library, gift shop, and snug.

There's also the opera house in Lancaster, we have the the Amherst Old Colony and Museum, the Erie Canal rides, which are very, very popular, and being only 28 miles from Niagara Falls, it's even nice in the winter because you have the ice buildup."
